John was born in Los Angeles, California; married to Valerie for 37 years; with two daughters Devon, age 22 and Brittney, age 30.

John graduated with honors from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Business and then received his Masters of Business degree from University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).

John worked as a management consultant with Management Technology, Inc., where he handled several projects for the Governors of Idaho and Nevada. He then joined the consulting division of a Big Eight accounting firm, where for ten years he acted as a senior systems consultant and then as a manager specializing in real estate and the oil & gas industry.

For over thirty years John has been active in real estate, first as an investor and later as a broker. John established Rancho Santa Fe Acreage & Homes, Inc. in 1979 and quickly built it into the top selling real estate office in the Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe. John sold his company in 1991 to Coldwell Banker, where he became their top listing and selling broker of luxury homes in San Diego County.

In 1998, John joined the Willis Allen Company and Sotheby’s International Realty, where he is currently their number one listing and selling agent. John has acted as the broker representing the buyer and/or seller for an exceptional list of luxury properties and has sold more Rancho Santa Fe properties than any other real estate broker (as seen in “Painting the Town Red”).
